Grub Crawl 2010: Details Announced
The 2010 Grub Crawl date has been reserved! Join the West Bloomfield CHamber, West Bloomfield Rotary Club, and local businesses for food and fun on Tuesday, September 14th from 6:30 to 9:30PM. Tickets will be available through this web site once it gets closer to launch time. If you or your company is interested in supporting the Grub Crawl through advertising please contact the chamber.

Now Accepting Nominations for Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2010
The chamber is accepting nominations for the West Bloomfield Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2010. All nominees must have a commitment to community involvement, live and/or work in the West Bloomfield area, and be between 18-35 years of age. Applications, in the form of an e-mail overview of 250 words or less, will be accepted through April 24th and the winner will be announced shortly after. The winner will be recognized at the Annual Chamber Dinner, to be held on May 18th, 2010.

Are You a Young Business Professional? (WBCC Annual Awards Dinner)
Wanted: Young business people who have achieved! As the Greater West Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce begins planning its Annual Awards Dinner, it has developed an award category never before given by the Chamber: the Young Entrepreneur Award.

The idea was developed by the Dinner Committee: Steve Tapper, Committee chair, Tapper’s Fine Jewelry & Diamonds; Carla Schwartz, Beaumont Hospitals; Wendy Strip, The Jewish Community Center; and Allan Sefton, Chamber president, Allan Sefton LLC. As the committee members discussed its theme—“The Future is Ours”—and the event purpose—recognizing a Business Person of the Year, New Business of the Year, Corporation of the Year, and Developer of the Year—discussion always came back to “the future,” and those bright, achievement-oriented young men and women who are our future. It was decided to identify and honor one of these current achievers and future leaders. Members of the greater West Bloomfield community will help select this honoree because the Chamber seeks nominations from the community-at-large. Here are the nomination criteria:

• The nominee must be between the ages of 18 and 30
• The nominee must have achieved in business as a corporate/organization rising star or have started their own successful business
• The nominee must work or live in greater West Bloomfield, including West Bloomfield, Keego Harbor, Sylvan Lake or Orchard Lake
• Nominations must be in writing—250 words or less—and emailed to the Greater West Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce () no later than April 1, 2009

Final selection will be made by a committee of the Chamber. The honoree will be notified and invited to attend the dinner as the Chamber’s guest. Allan Sefton noted that, “While the Chamber works to represent its members and the entire business community, it’s important to take time to seek out and recognize those people who are making a difference, who are inventive and innovative, and who work to make a better community by exhibiting business ethics and integrity. These are the mission and challenge of the Annual Awards Dinner. We are excited—and believe it is appropriate—to expand our recognition to include a future leader who is on the verge of great success and making a commitment to the greater West Bloomfield area.”

All members of the community are invited to attend this signature Chamber event on Tuesday, May 12, 6:30 pm, at Bentley’s Restaurant [Map]. Tickets, priced at $100 per person, include an elegant strolling dinner buffet, open bar and the opportunity to network with influential business leaders and community decision-makers.
